Sister Marion Moeser, associate professor of Sacred Scripture at Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, New York, was honored with a citation and the president’s medal during the seminary’s May 13 graduation ceremony. Father Joseph Gatto, president-rector, and Bishop Richard Malone presented the award and citation. In addition, Father Gatto announced the inception of the Sister Marion Moeser Award in Sacred Scripture which will be presented annually to a worthy graduate.
Sister Marion’s principle fields of interest include Christianity and Judaism in the ancient world, with concentrations on the Old and New Testament. She has studied and taught sessions on the Dead Sea Scrolls, early Church documents, and early Rabbinic Judaism’s texts.
“In all my study I have always been concerned to discuss the theology presented in these areas/texts in the context of our modern life experiences – ‘where the rubber hits the road,’” she says.
