BECOME A SISTER
Our sisters come to us from all walks of life and bring with them a wide range of talents, gifts and abilities. We hold in common a love of God and the desire to serve our brothers and sisters in the style of St. Francis of Assisi — with humility, compassion and joy.
We can help you explore your future path.
You can attend a discernment retreat, connect with us on FaceBook, or spend time in our House of Discernment.
Located in Millvale, Pennsylvania (outside of Pittsburgh), the House of Discernment is an opportunity for women ages 20-50 to spend six months to a year considering their future. Living, working and praying with likeminded women will give you a sense of community life while you determine the path God is calling you to follow.

Associates deepen their spirituality, join us in faith-sharing and spiritual enrichment and share their gifts with us and each other through work, volunteering, prayer and fun events.
Known as pre-associates, candidates work with a sister through the year-long preparation program — classes on the lives and spirituality of Saints Francis and Clare, and the history and mission of our congregation. Pre-associates who complete the program commit as an associate for three years.
Rooted in the Gospel, we serve with reverence, justice and compassion.
