Anne Marie Straney’s ministry as a Franciscan Associate in WNY and her membership in the chorus of the Buffalo Philharmonic Symphony (BPO) collided last weekend when she sang in the choir of Francis: An Oratorio in Nine Scenes.”
Anne Marie became an associate 12 years ago, during what she said was a difficult time in her life. She became a member of the BPO’s chorus three years ago. She was thrilled when she heard that the chorus would be involved in the premiere production of the oratorio on the life of St. Francis.
“This is the Jubilee Year of Francis, and I find this oratorio relevant with all that’s going on in the world,” Straney said. “I’m hoping more people live by his principles of peace and love and honoring creation.”
