Franciscan Villa Residence

Franciscan Villa officially opened its doors in June 2014, and the new house is rapidly become “home” to our sisters in the greater Syracuse area. Located at 6900 Buckley Road (adjacent to Salina Meadows in North Syracuse), the new residence provides a flexible home for up to 96 or our sisters to live, work, and pray together as a community.

This wonderful space is a true blessing for our sisters… and we’re doubly blessed by the generosity of our friends and benefactors who have so generously supported this project.

This new home was built in collaboration with Hearth Management, a locally based nationally recognized leader in senior housing. The two-story residence is organized into eight “households” — each including 12 bedrooms organized around a central living space and kitchenette. Franciscan Villa also includes common space for meals, gatherings, ministries, offices, and worship.

The heart of the house is the Franciscan Villa chapel. Beautiful in its simplicity, our sisters’ Franciscan charism is underscored in light and color with six “Brother Sun, Sister Moon” themed windows. Designed by Rambush studio and crafted by Brennan Stained Glass Studio, the windows bring to mind St. Francis’ belief that all creation is a holy reflection of the glory of God.

Get involved!

There are still many wonderful opportunities to honor family, friends, and the special sisters in your life with a named space at Franciscan Villa or gift in support of our sisters’ retirement care needs.

In memory of and in honor of gift opportunities

Throughout our lives, we are deeply influenced by sisters, friends, and family members we have loved, and those who have loved us. The Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities invite you to honor the special people in your life. Your gift in memory of or honor of a sister, friend or family member supports the mission and ministries of the sisters.

Franciscan Villa Chapel

Villa Chapel

Franciscan Villa is now home to 96 of our sisters in Central New York. Even though they have moved in, there are still many ways to honor or memorialize family, friends, or special sisters. Please consider sponsoring a named space or funding a specific need of our sisters in residence at Franciscan Villa such as:

Sponsor a Chapel Chair: $300 each
Sponsor a Sister’s Bedroom: $5,000 each
Sensory Garden Sponsor: $25,000

In appreciation, all donors and those honored through their gifts will be recognized appropriately on our lobby donor “Giving Tree” and our annual Benefactor Report of Appreciation.

Path of Life

Path of Life

Situated next to our regional house in Williamsville, N.Y., the Path of Life is a place of beauty, serenity, and a haven for personal prayer. Engraved bricks and pavers throughout this pathway offer a lasting tribute in honor or memory of individuals, families, and special occasions.

We invite you to purchase an engraved brick or paver that will be placed in this special pathway. They may be dedicated in memory or in honor of specific individuals or to commemorate special occasions. You can also purchase a brick/paver to honor an individual for a holiday or birthday gift.

As you walk the path, you can read the names of those honored etched in brick. Years from now, as people visit the path, they will see the incredible support of those who believed in our sisters and our important ministries.
