Sister Joan Clare Jenny, who graduated 70 years ago from St. Elizabeth College of Nursing in Utica, New York was honored during the annual Alumni Banquet. Sister Joan Clare received a special plaque recognizing her dedication to nursing and for representing the St. Elizabeth Alumni so proudly and professionally. She earned a master’s degree in nursing from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and served as a registered nurse and nursing instructor at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica, St. Joseph Hospital in Syracuse, New York and Mercy Rehabilitation Center in Auburn, New York.
Sister Joan Clare’s classmates remember her as always smiling, willing to help and never complaining. Many of her students recall her as being kind, knowledgeable and approachable. She challenged her students, never had a harsh word, always had praise, and was a peacemaker, a saint!
