The First Nativity Scene

Eight hundred years ago, Francis brought the scene of Jesus’ birth to life when he created the first creche, or Nativity Scene. For Francis, Christmas was Catholicism’s most important religious holiday. For without becoming man, Jesus could not die on the cross. And by becoming one of us, God showed how much He loved us.
