We invite you to partner with us as we join the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and End Poverty USA in raising poverty awareness this month.

Forty-seven million people live in poverty in the United States (U.S. Census Bureau, 2014). The number of people in poverty in the U.S. is larger than the populations of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, and Nebraska combined.

What is your reaction to the number of people in the U.S. in poverty? Will you remain silent?

Pope Francis says, “Among our tasks as witnesses to the love of Christ is that of giving a voice to the cry of the poor” (6/14/13).

How can you hear “the cry of the poor”? PovertyUSA.org has great resources to help you learn and educate others, take action in your community, give of your time and resources, and pray to end poverty. Be sure to share these resources with others!
