Meet Sisters Virginia Balk, Virginia Frick and Virginia Judge
For years, Sisters Virginia Balk, Virginia Frick and Virginia Judge ministered in the field of education, teaching in numerous schools and nurturing countless children of all ages. Among her ministries, Sister Ginny Judge served as director of religious education at St. Benedict’s Parish in Eggertsville, New York. Sister Ginny Balk was a superintendent in the Diocese of Syracuse, and Sister Ginny Frick taught in many elementary and high schools throughout Western New York.
Now in their retirement years, the three sisters live and work together at St. Mary of the Angels in Williamsville, New York and remain very active. “Creative work keeps me occupied, and makes me feel like I’m still contributing,” says Sister Ginny Frick, who serves in the Creative Corner Gift Shop, Archives, Prayer Shawl Ministry and the Ministry of Praise.
“Meeting people and sharing our lives with others is what keeps me going,” says Sister Ginny Balk. Ginny oversees the congregation’s Adopt A Sister program, is the coordinator of the receptionists and is involved in Prayer Ministry.
Sister Ginny Judge ministers in Mission Advancement where she processes gifts and donor acknowledgements. She also helps to beautify St. Mary of the Angels with her gardening skills, and offers special prayers for people through our Prayer Ministry. “Retirement is a special time for seeing God’s goodness in creation and others,” she says. “A time for giving thanks.”
