The blessing and dedication of the St. Bonaventure McGinley-Carney Center for Franciscan Ministry took place on Saturday, Sept. 16 at St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, New York. The leadership team and several sisters from the Western New York region attended this wonderful event.

The naming of the building recognized the generosity of Jack McGinley and his family’s $2.5 million donation for the building as well as his leadership as board chair of the St. Bonaventure University Board of Trustees. The second name on the building recognizes our Sister Margaret Carney for her leadership as president of St. Bonaventure during very difficult times. “The leadership that resulted from the McGinley-Carney partnership and friendship is a model for future Franciscan ministry experiences and the center will be a permanent reminder of this,” says Sister Barbara Jean Donovan.

University Ministries provides a variety of opportunities for spiritual growth, service learning, social action, and community building.
