The Phyllis and George Marsceill Sensory Garden at Franciscan Villa was dedicated at a special Blessing of the Garden on June 30. Joining the sisters were representatives of the Marsceill family including special guest Phyllis Marsceill, in whose honor this generous gift was given.
Lynn Marsceill McMartin says “After my dad’s passing I wanted a place to remember and honor my parents and when we visited the Villa it immediately touched my heart. The warmth I felt from the sisters and joy they shared about their new home was so impactful I knew I wanted to be a part of this loving community. It has been such a joy for me to be able to provide the lovely garden for them to enjoy but it has given me and my mother much more.”
The Marsceill Sensory Garden was specially designed to be fully accessible to everyone, and to delight all the senses. A wide wheelchair and scooter–friendly path loops the garden, and the plantings encourage garden guests to look, touch, taste, admire and listen. This summer, the sisters added herbs and vegetables to the flowers.
Thank you Marsceill Family for partnering with us!
