Maisie’s First Profession
With family members and friends looking on, S. Maisie Ng made her first profession of vows on September 14. Standing on the altar at Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville, New York, S. Maisie vowed to “live in poverty, chastity and obedience for three years according to the Rule and Life of the Brothers and Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis…”
It was a congregation-wide celebration, with sisters from CNY, WNY and WPA attending and participating in the liturgy: Sisters Terri Laureta and Donna McGartland providing music and S. Laura Hackenberg serving as cantor. Sisters Colette Walter, Anne Bremmer, Amy Williams and Caryn Crook also had roles in the service. Along with S. Jeanne Weisbeck and the Leadership Team, everyone joined in to offer the blessing of St. Francis for S. Maisie. Rev. Nader Ata, OFM Conventual, celebrated Mass.
A lovely and lively reception followed. Both inside and out, it was a perfect day!
