We invite you to learn more about our Franciscan way of life as Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities. Our vocation ministers are always available to talk with you as you begin your journey of discovery.
A time of discovery
During the inquiry stage you’ll get to know our sisters by attending various community gatherings. You will also receive our e-newsletters and visit personally with our vocations ministers. We also encourage you to attend one of our Discernment Retreats during this time.
A Time to Grow Personally and Spiritually
As a pre-candidate, you will meet regularly with the vocation minister as well as a spiritual director. Residing at your home, you will have opportunities to participate in the life of the community.
Contact-resident Program (optional)
This opportunity is for women who do not know the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities and choose to live with the sisters for a period of time. As a contact-resident, you participate much more directly in the life of a local community and the broader community. You will meet regularly with a sister-mentor, spiritual director and the vocation minister.
During this time you will be fully employed, and pay a monthly stipend for room and board, while being responsible for your personal financial needs.
As you continue to acknowledge your call to religious life with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, we invite you to continue your discernment as a pre-candidate. During this time, mutual discernment of your call to the Sisters of St. Francis will take place as you spend more time in community. The vocation minister will help you continue your discernment and the action of God in your life as you continue to grow both personally and spiritually. This is the point when you begin the application process which includes an interview with the general minister and leadership team as well as submitting:
