Two recent articles in the Hawaii Catholic Herald highlight the work of St. Marianne and our ministry to honor her legacy. One article features a story from S. Barbara Jean Wajda, who recounts how she first learned about St. Marianne and how her Spirit-filled decisions led her to Kalaupapa Island, where Mother Marianne served those affected by Hansen’s disease. The second story from the Office for Social Ministry discusses the need to care for vulnerable individuals, particularly children. It mentions the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities and St. Marianne Cope’s inspiration, motivating them to continue caring for the vulnerable.
We are grateful to St. Marianne. Inspired by her example, we will continue to pray for the grace to answer God’s call to care for His people.
