Sister Jean Thompson, OSF, diocesan vicar for religious and Sister Patricia Burkard, OSF, diocesan coordinator of Priests’ Retirement Residences will play major roles in planning for the yearlong events.
Sister Patricia said Sister Jean will serve to “connect the dots” between the planning committee and the religious leaders in deciding what to do for the Year of Consecrated Life.
“For me, the Year of Consecrated Life is following the lead of Pope Francis, as to raise awareness and have the public better understand the place and the work of religious men, women and brothers,” said Sister Patricia.
The religious congregations plan to use social media, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, to promote the events and encourage younger adults to find out more about religious life.
