On Monday, May 11, a portion of a New York City street was dedicated in honor of St. Damien.
“Father Damien Way” extends along 33rd Street between First and Second avenues. Several Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities from New York and Hawaii attended the celebration. Watch highlights of the event here.
Very exciting to see St. Damien honored with a street sign in NYC!
Perhaps at some point the German government might help to have St. Marianne Cope so honored?! Wouldn’t that be wonderful! I cannot begin to imagine how complicated a process it is.
