Exaltation of the Cross (John 3: 13 – 17)

By Sister Laurita Kelly
In Monday’s Gospel Reading it shares, “No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
For God so loved the world that he gave us his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.”
As we celebrate the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross let us be filled with gratitude for the love Jesus had and has for us. He gave his life so we may have eternal life. Let us lift up our daily crosses during this pandemic time and carry them with Jesus. May we also reach out with compassion to those struggling to provide for their loved ones by donating our time and financial assistance. There is no greater love than to lift high the cross with Jesus. Eternal JOY will be ours. Amen.
