Come, Lord Jesus! Is the ancient prayer of Advent down through the ages! Let it be our prayer this year too! Let Jesus the Son of God be born anew in our hearts which are continually hungry for the “Good News”.
Come, Lord Jesus, renew our patience so we can wait with hopeful hearts. That our Advent hearts will echo Pope Francis’ words…”make yourself humble, make yourself a servant of others, and the Lord will give you the ability to understand how to make peace”, promote the generosity of our spirit so that we are more fully able to bring about your kingdom of love, justice and compassion.
Come, Lord Jesus, widen our vision of the world so that all are included and none of your beloved ones are isolated and alone. Show us the way, that justice may flourish and our sometimes cold hearts will be warmed by the example of your unselfish love.
Come, Lord Jesus be our Peace!
