The weeks before Christmas traditionally are filled with holiday activity — baking, shopping, parties and family gatherings. But as COVID-19 claims thousands of lives and hundreds of families facing job and home losses, for many, Advent 2020 is a dark time indeed.
That’s not out of the norm, however. In the early days of Christianity, Advent was much like Lent — a time for prayer, fasting and doing good works to prepare one’s soul for the birth of God
Christ born is a great symbol of hope, something so many of us need during this difficult time. The Sisters remind you that as we journey through Advent we are not alone in this darkness and that the light at the end is the child in a manger.
