The weeks before Christmas are filled with activity — shopping for gifts, baking special treats eaten only at this time of year, partying and gathering with friends and family. But traditionally, the time from the first Sunday in December up to Christmas Eve known as Advent was a time for prayer, fasting and good works to prepare for the birth of Christ, our hope for eternal salvation.

During this Advent season, the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities invite you to take a moment each day to quiet yourself, think about the true meaning of the season and learn a little something new about some of our ministers and their work. All you need to do is visit our online Advent Calendar and click on the date to see the day’s offering.
