Do you want to make a difference with your life by serving others while having the support of community and a deep prayer life? If you have the passion and energy to respond to this call as did our St. Marianne Cope who said, “The charity of the good knows no creed and is confined to no one place,” we invite you to learn more about our Franciscan way of life. Discover how you can share your gifts and talents in community, ministry and prayer as a Sister of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities.
Prayer and Community
As the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, we live an evangelical life in community, which means we live as women of prayer and action. In community, we reverence each other as sisters because we recognize that we have a common brother in Christ. The love of God experienced together through prayer, community and in ministry empowers us to grow as persons in community. We reside in communities based on our ministry locations. We continue to pray and serve God’s people together, as well as individually.
Passion + Opportunity = Ministry
Our sisters have been serving God’s people through their various talents, passions, and callings. With global opportunities to serve, sisters have responded to the needs of the times through their ministries. Community support and prayer offer the foundation for solid spiritual growth, which fosters the continuing efforts of the congregation as a whole.

You and your loved ones are remembered

Prayer Ministry
Prayer rooted in faith, springs from our response to God’s love for us and is the foundation of our spiritual life, our relational commitment and our service in ministry. For the Sisters of St. Francis there is no end or retirement from the ministry of prayer. It is a ministry taken seriously and most especially by sisters retired from active ministry.

Take inspiration from the life of Saint Marianne
St. Marianne Cope, a Sister of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, was canonized Oct. 21, 2012. She is the first Franciscan woman from North American to be canonized, and only the 11th American saint. A woman of great valor, this beloved mother of outcasts, spent her early years in central New York where she served as a leader in the field of health care, education and of her own congregation. Responding to a call to care for the poor sick on the then Sandwich Islands, she devoted 35 years to caring for those afflicted with Hansen’s disease on Kalaupapa, Molokai, Hawaii.
